Yukon part 5

After twenty minutes of ‘hands and knees’ crawling and wanting to close my eyes, I discovered we made it to within 350 yards. I got ready. I positioned my now 93 pound body on some jagged rocks, and waited for my ram to come into my crosshairs. After six or seven minutes of waiting, which seemed like forever, I saw the “Toad” Dustin had spotted.  Bigger then I could remember, I tried to concentrate, not on his head gear, but on where to put my crosshairs.  After thirty seconds of squirreling around, the Toad turned broadside and gave me his left shoulder.  I gently squeezed my trigger--“BOOM”!  Toad crumbled at the shot.  Dustin hugged me, then Shawn, both macho tough sheep guides wiping tears from their eyes, and me—I don’t cry—but tears of relief and excitement flowed from my eyes once I saw that my Daddy was tearful too.  I’m now a Grand Slammer! My ram was 41x40 ½ with 14 inch bases and only 6-1/2 years old!
